Data Collection for Opinion Tester Dial Focus Groups
Once a test has been created, it can be executed to collect data. During data collection, the test manager uses the Opinion Tester Dial focus group Manager main screen to manage the test.
The Opinion Tester Dial Manager main screen allows the dial focus group test manager to move from step to step and to see not only what the participant is seeing but also participant responses as they are occurring. For audio/video steps, a moving graph of average responses or individual responses is displayed.

Three important EXTRA data collection features to note:
1. If there are observers (the client) , the Data Manager screen can also be configured so they can watch it as well. This allows clients to observe responses from group participants as the test is occurring.
2. Test steps can be modified and inserted while the test is going on, for example, to add questions suggested by observers during a session.
3. If the dial focus group test manager attempts to record the answers to a multiple choice question and one or more participants have not answered, the software will warn the manager and tell him the handheld unit numbers for the non-responsive participants. Similarly, if one or more handheld does not change during an audio/video segment, the manager will also be warned. This allows the manager to be proactive in identifying either participant or hardware issues.
4. Reporting Once data has been collected, Opinion Tester Dial focus group Manager provides a wide variety of reporting options including: Playback. Playback allows the manager to play back responses to questions and audio/video segments as the occurred during the test.
Export.
Raw data can be exported in electronic format for input into other programs. Supported formats include ASCII comma delimited, Excel, and Microsoft Access.
•Text Reports. Text reports with tables of data can be generated suitable for importing into a word doc.
•Graphs. Graphs can be generated in JPEG format suitable for importing into word processing programs such as Word and presentation program such processing program such as Word or printing. as PowerPoint or printing.
•HTML Reports. HTML format reports can be generated suitable for posting directly onto the web. Opinion Tester can also provide a password-protected website for the reports, if desired.
Report data can be selected in a variety of ways including:
•If questions were included in the test, the data can be selected based on the response to one or more questions. For example, if the participants were asked their gender and level of education, a report can be generated of data from women with advanced degrees.
•If questions were included in the test, data from participants who answered questions differently can be reported against each other. For example, if the participants were asked their gender and age, data from male teenagers could be graphed against data from female teenagers.
• Opinion Tester Dial Manager supports the database industry-standard query language SQL (Structured Query Language). This means that report queries are fully-customizable using SQL.
